Crocking Cloth/Cotton Lawn
Crocking Cloth/Cotton Lawn
For Testing Colour Transfer
Crocking cloth, also known as cotton lawn or rubbing cloth, is used in a Crockmaster (Crockmeter) to check the amount of dye transfer, following a dry or wet rub fastness test. The dyed sample is rubbed, under controlled conditions, against the white crocking cloth. Subsequently, the degree of colour transfer is evaluated using a Grey Scale for assessing Staining.
Every metre of test cloth is rigorously inspected to ensure that you receive faultless material.
For your convenience, we supply either by the metre or crocking squares (cut pieces) - 5 x 5cm with straight or optional gimped edges.
We supply European (ISO) and American (AATCC) material. The specifications are different and are not interchangeable.
Great Partnerships
Use James Heal's Crockmaster to carry out precise dry and/or wet colour fastness to rubbing tests.
If you have a lot of testing to do or desire improved reproducibility, try a motorisedCrockmaster.
Use a James Heal Grey Scale to give an accurate assessment of colour transfer to the crocking cloth.
